About Me

I started up JG Review 10 years ago, originally a distraction to GCSE revision. It first sprouted as a shabby review site, where I could chew over Mario Kart and Doctor Who. I can't quite believe its since allowed me access to some of the most brilliant festivals and films of the last decade. Thank you to everyone who's followed me along the journey.

To further explore my love for film and cultural criticism, I decided to pursue Film in further education. I enjoyed my time at King's College London, where I graduated with a BA in English and Film Studies. I graduated from the University of Cambridge more recently with a distinction in their MPhil Film and Screen Studies course.

I've had the massive pleasure of covering a variety of film and film festival events, including:

  • The London BFI Film Festival (2019, 2021, 2023, 2024)

  • The LGBTQ+ BFI Flare Festival (2019, 2021)

  • The Cannes Film Festival (2022)

  • The opening of Marvel's Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

Though my 9-5 workdays make it hard to be as active as I once was, I'm excited to keep on writing.

I accept review commissions, so don't be afraid to contact me! And if you like my stuff then feel free to enter your email in the subscription box on the homepage - you'll get an update whenever I post something new.

Thanks a bunch x
